How long does it take for DNS changes to take effect?

When you make changes to your DNS settings, it is immediate - but may take a while to "filter through" the Internet.   This is known as propagation.

The changes have usually propagated through the internet within 48 hours, but can occur sooner (.au domains are much quicker).
